If your frame is made of aluminum alloy, water alone will not cause rust. However, the interface between the screws and the frame is prone to water seepage and is not easy to air dry. the screws are not made of aluminum, but ordinary steel, so the screws will start to rust first. The rusted areas will frequently contact the frame, and the outer layer of the aluminum alloy will be damaged, so the rust will slowly "spread" to the entire frame.
So how to avoid this situation? We picked the 304 stainless steel screws, they are durable enough and corrosion resistance—— Means that even you ride a bike in rain or spread some soda on it, not a problem!
